7. Advertising (Google AdSense)

To keep this site free, we display advertising delivered by Google AdSense, a service operated by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland).

We implement Google Consent Mode v2. Your choice in the cookie banner determines what kind of ads you see:

  • If you accept advertising cookies: we serve personalized ads based on your interests, browsing behavior, and prior interactions across Google services. Google may set cookies and process your IP address, device/browser information, page views, and approximate location.
  • If you decline (or have not yet chosen): we serve non-personalized ads (NPA). No personal-profile cookies are set. AdSense uses only the minimum technical storage necessary to display ads, prevent fraud, and frequency-cap them — this falls under the § 25(2) TTDSG exemption for storage strictly necessary to provide the service the user requested (the ad-funded website).
  • If you have our paid ad-free upgrade: no AdSense script is loaded at all.

Personalized advertising is processed on the legal basis of your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Non-personalized advertising is processed on the legal basis of our legitimate interest in funding the free service (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in conjunction with the § 25(2) TTDSG exemption.

Data may be transferred to Google servers located outside the EEA (including the United States). Google participates in the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which provides an adequate level of protection.

You can withdraw or change consent at any time by clearing cookies or revisiting the cookie settings. You can also opt out of personalized advertising directly with Google at adssettings.google.com.
